Webinar Wednesdays

Please join us on Wednesday, June 19th for a webinar with Philippe Ledent, PE, SE from Region 3, presenting results from programs supported by the Concrete Masonry Checkoff.

Date: Wednesday, June 19, 2024
Time: 1:30PM ET/12:30PM CT
Location: Zoom – Link will be emailed after registration form submitted

Webinar Overview

This presentation will familiarize participants with three Region 3 programs (037-23, 038-23, and 041-23) as well as one national program (042-23) funded by the Concrete Masonry Checkoff.
  • For 037-23, participants will gain knowledge of masonry specifications and common mistakes that affect projects. Pre-edited specifications will be presented to highlight the areas that affect concrete masonry materials.
  • For 038-23, Autodesk Revit details will be presented and will be discussed as part of the design process. Specifications and standard details are included in every set of construction documents and so familiarizing designers with concrete masonry will empower them to make informed decisions.
  • For 041-23, an update on the completed program for Strength Design of masonry will be given and participants will be presented a shortened proposal showing how simple it is to design economical concrete masonry structures.
  • Lastly, for 042-23, an update will be provided on the testing that was completed at the University of Louisville and how the results will be used to revise standards and promote “internal” wall bracing of concrete masonry walls during construction.
